About the role#
This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing counseling services and consultations that align with gospel principles, requiring strict adherence to confidentiality, professional standards, and legal compliance.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care under close supervision.
- Offer consultation and maintain positive relationships with Church leaders.
- Document accurate and updated notes within the data collection system.
- Ensure the work environment remains clean, safe, and organized.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service consistent with gospel values.
- Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the counseling profession.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss sensitive topics professionally.
- Ability to create and execute an individual training plan for professional development.
- Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
