Intern, Accounting (Finance and Records Dept.)

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to apply principles learned in educational settings to a professional accounting environment. The position is full-time, lasts for 12 months, and is intended to offer valuable educational and religious experience under the general supervision of the Finance and Records Department.

What you'll do#

• Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets and financial statements, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas of concern.
• Create data visualizations, charts, dashboards, and management reports in Power BI to support decision-making.
• Develop and maintain automated data and reporting tools using Python, SQL, or other relevant technologies.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with financial regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Collect and analyze financial and operational data from diverse sources such as ledgers, project tracking systems, and work order reports.
• Apply statistical techniques and predictive analytics to anticipate future financial and operational needs.
• Support internal control reviews, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and draft technical documentation for data models and workflows.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an educational institution, or graduation within the past year.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with tact and diplomacy.
• Sound judgment regarding Church doctrine, history, organization, policy, and protocol.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet challenging deadlines.
• Must be a member of the Church who is worthy of a temple recommend.

• Location: Salt Lake City, Utah.
• Modality: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
• Status: Paid, full-time internship.
