Intern, Accounting (Finance and Records Dept.)

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to apply academic accounting and finance principles within a professional environment. The intern will work under general supervision within the Finance and Records Department to support financial operations, data analysis, and reporting. This is a full-time, paid position with a duration of twelve months.

What you'll do#

• Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets and financial statements, including identifying trends, anomalies, and potential concerns.
• Create data visualizations, charts, dashboards, and management reports using Power BI to support decision-making.
• Develop and maintain automated data and reporting tools using Python, SQL, or other relevant technologies.
• Support internal control reviews by providing accurate financial data and documenting processes.
• Audit data projects for compliance with internal standards and coordinate with relevant parties to address gaps or issues.
• Collect and analyze financial and operational data from sources such as account ledgers, project tracking systems, and work order reports.
• Apply statistical techniques and predictive analytics to anticipate future financial needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and draft technical documentation for data models and analysis workflows.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an educational institution or graduation within the past year.
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Ability to meet challenging deadlines, work in harmony with others, and maintain high attention to detail.
• Must be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worthy of a temple recommend.
• Sound judgment regarding Church doctrine, history, organization, policy, and protocol.
• Spanish language skills are preferred.
• Ability to sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

• Location: Salt Lake City, Utah.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
