Interfaith Relations Intern - Paid

About the role#

This paid internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in interfaith relations and public affairs. Based in Salt Lake City, the intern will support the department in cultivating global relationships, managing event logistics, and conducting research to advance interfaith initiatives. This role is designed to provide educational experience by applying academic principles to a professional work setting.

What you'll do#

• Identify and cultivate relationships with national and global faith leaders while tracking opportunities for engagement.
• Maintain and organize department databases, including influencer contacts and event records, to ensure data accuracy.
• Support large-scale events, including temple open houses, General Conference, concerts, and other gatherings.
• Assist in hosting visiting religious leaders and interfaith partners at Church headquarters.
• Contribute to research, writing, and communications that support ongoing interfaith efforts.

What you'll need#

• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a current temple recommend.
• Must be in the final year of studies or have graduated within the past year with a degree in Communications, Public Health, Political Science, or a related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and research summaries.
• Experience in organizing information and maintaining accurate records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Location & details#

• Location: Joseph Smith Memorial Building, Salt Lake City, UT.
• Compensation: $23 per hour.
• Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
• Duration: Up to one year (longer tenure preferred).
