Full Time Paid Intern For the Strength of Youth Writer/Editor (Church Magazines)

About the role#

The For the Strength of Youth Writer/Editor intern serves as an integral part of the youth magazine team. This is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2026 term (September–December). Interns work 40 hours per week and are eligible for medical benefits. While the role is based at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, some days may be worked remotely depending on arrangements made at the time of hire.

What you'll do#

• Interview youth from around the world and write their stories for publication.
• Manage several departments for each issue and write original articles.
• Select and edit submissions for print and digital platforms.
• Proofread magazine issues with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the team to shape ideas for future content.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited college or university, or graduation within one year of the internship start date.
• Preferred majors include Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, Graphic Design, Marketing, Psychology, or Political Science.
• At least one semester of college-level editing or writing experience (e.g., literary journals, writing labs, newspaper staff, or assistant roles).
• Strong skills in writing, revising, copyediting, and proofreading.
• A sound understanding of Church doctrine, history, organization, and policy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, sustain concentration, and maintain professionalism.
• Must be a member of the Church worthy of a temple recommend.
