About the role#
The External Communications Intern supports the team in increasing the awareness, perception, and public presence of Seminaries and Institutes of Religion (S&I). This role assists with external messaging, social media, branding, campaigns, events, and public relations to help leaders and programs communicate with a consistent S&I voice.
What you'll do#
- Support messaging and communication plans for S&I products, initiatives, and events.
- Draft copy, announcements, presentations, and other communication materials.
- Assist with communication across Church-owned, Church-friendly, and partner channels.
- Support S&I social media content, publishing calendars, and engagement on youth and young adult channels.
- Capture and organize photo and video content for social media and campaigns.
- Monitor trends, performance, and communication results.
- Help maintain branding, messaging, and style resources, including creating templates, graphics, and guidebooks.
- Assist with event storytelling, content capture, and promotional materials.
- Support media outreach, creator and advocate relationships, and story development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university, or graduation within the past year.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital communications, and current trends.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
- Interest in communications, public relations, marketing, branding, or journalism.
- Experience creating presentations, graphics, or digital content is preferred.
- Membership in the Church and a current temple recommend are required for employment.
