About the role#
The Church History Museum is offering a paid, full-time curatorial internship for the Fall 2026 term. Running from August 2026 through December 2026, this position allows an intern to work alongside the history curator and assistant curator. The role provides hands-on experience in material culture, public history, and museum operations while supporting the museum mission to connect visitors with the history and cultural legacy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
What you'll do#
- Conduct historical research to support museum projects and messaging.
- Contribute to and maintain exhibit object lists in collaboration with curators and the collections management team.
- Produce written materials for internal and external audiences, such as research reports and exhibition narrative text.
- Participate in project team meetings.
- Perform additional tasks based on project needs and individual interests or capabilities.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in history, communications, art, public health, or a related field, or current enrollment in such a program.
- Excellent research and writing skills, including the ability to organize research effectively and communicate ideas clearly.
- A solid understanding of Latter-day Saint history from 1830 to the present.
- Strong storytelling skills and an enthusiasm for public history.
- The ability to work efficiently, both independently and collaboratively.

- Location: Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August through December).
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Eligibility: Paid interns must be enrolled in an educational institution or be within one year of graduation. Applicants must be members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend.
