About the role#
The Architecture Engineering Intern supports the Meetinghouse Facilities Architecture and Engineering team. This role provides an opportunity to apply academic principles to an actual work setting. Interns receive assignments from supervising staff and work under general supervision to support various projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
- Review project documents and assist with tracking and documentation.
- Attend project meetings.
- Conduct research to support ongoing initiatives.
- Support architects and engineers with project coordination.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in the Mechanical Engineering program at BYU-Idaho.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, HVAC and mechanical building systems, and construction processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently while taking direction from experienced engineers and project managers.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar engineering software is desirable.
- Must be a member of the Church and worthy of a temple recommend.
