About the role#
The Enterprise Data & Analytics team is seeking a Data Engineer for an operational support co-op position. This role offers hands-on experience building and maintaining cloud-based data platforms and pipelines that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives. You will work within an Agile environment to ensure the health and performance of data systems.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Ingest data from various sources including SAP, APIs, databases, flat files, and cloud platforms.
- Prepare and transform datasets for reporting, AI/ML, and advanced analytics using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Monitor pipeline health, perform incident triage, and resolve data quality or performance issues.
- Support the development of Power BI datasets and semantic models.
- Assist with CI/CD deployments, testing, and automation tasks.
- Create technical designs, runbooks, and documentation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Proficiency in Python or PySpark.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, or STTM concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, ADF, ADLS, or Power BI is considered a plus.
- Exposure to AI/ML, CI/CD, or DevOps practices is beneficial.
