Data Engineer - Operational Support (Co-op)

About the role#

The Enterprise Data & Analytics team is seeking a motivated Data Engineer for an operational support co-op. This role provides hands-on experience building and supporting cloud-based data platforms and pipelines used for enterprise analytics, reporting, and AI/ML solutions. You will work within an Agile environment to maintain data systems and collaborate on technical documentation.

What you'll do#

• Develop and support scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Ingest data from SAP, APIs, databases, flat files, and cloud platforms.
• Build data transformations using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Prepare datasets for reporting, AI/ML, and advanced analytics.
• Track pipeline health, monitor platform performance, and resolve data quality issues.
• Perform incident triage and root cause analysis.
• Support Power BI datasets and semantic models.
• Assist with CI/CD deployments and testing.
• Create technical designs, runbooks, and documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and stand-ups.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Programming proficiency in Python and/or PySpark.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, or STTM concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, ADF, ADLS, or Power BI is a plus.
• Exposure to AI/ML, CI/CD, or DevOps is beneficial.

• This is a full-time, paid co-op position based on-site in Camden, New Jersey.
