About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work directly with the Store Manager to understand daily operations and management responsibilities. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship that offers a chance to develop leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills. We are looking for individuals interested in a long-term commitment with the company.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering and creating merchandise displays.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring.
- Manage a product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates, and tracking your results.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Point of Sale procedures.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university, majoring in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs in the store and backroom.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- No prior experience or training is required for this role.
