About the role#
We are looking for a Lab Operations Co-op to join our Research & Development team. You will support the laboratory operations that enable product development and innovation across our beverage portfolio. This is a six-month, full-time position that provides hands-on experience with laboratory processes, analytical equipment, sensory evaluation, and inventory management.
What you'll do#
- Support daily laboratory functions, including instrument calibration and control beer analysis.
- Operate, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and blend samples for daily sensory evaluation panels.
- Assist with product evaluation and prototype preparation.
- Collaborate with technical teams on product development and optimization.
- Manage laboratory organization, inventory tracking, and supply management.
- Conduct weekly inventory audits to maintain operating requirements.
- Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for laboratory activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related Life Sciences discipline.
- You must remain enrolled in school after the co-op ends.
- Basic laboratory experience gained through coursework, research, or previous work.
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with OneNote, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and PowerPoint is helpful.
- A genuine interest in product development, sensory science, and analytical testing.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The position is fully on-site at our Boston Brewery, five days per week.
- The program runs from January 4, 2027, through June 25, 2027.
- This is a paid position.
