About the role#
This paid internship offers exposure to various HR functions including onboarding, employee relations, safety, and payroll. You will work on-site in Bastrop, Texas, during the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time position. Please note that interns are responsible for their own housing, food, and transportation.
What you'll do#
- Process HRIS transactions and complete I-9 verification for new hires.
- Manage the new-hire onboarding process.
- Conduct daily safety walk audits and work with the team to address issues.
- Organize employee events and assist with various HR initiatives.
- Create training guides and resource materials.
- Review and respond to inquiries regarding benefits, compensation, payroll, and employee relations.
- Audit time and attendance records.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a 4-year Bachelor's or Master's program.
- Understanding of employment legal guidelines and compliance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Strong multitasking and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
