About the role#
Engineering Interns at The Boring Company take on significant responsibility and own their specific projects throughout the term. You will work on-site to support the development of underground transportation systems and tunnel infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical instrumentation for tunnels and tunnel boring machines.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare civil engineering details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
- Design and conduct experiments to optimize the tunneling process and improve machine reliability.
- Support the design of systems related to operations, including boring machine parts and tunnel infrastructure.
- Track and report on daily activities occurring within the tunnel and at the launch site.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience with mechanical, software, electrical, or construction projects, whether through school or industry work.
- Proficiency or experience with CAD, Solidworks, PLCs, digital electronics, web technologies, or software applications.
