Project Engineer Intern - - Summer 2026

About the role#

The Boldt Company is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site at a project location in Whittier, California. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you'll do#

• Interpret design and construction drawings to support craft teams installing materials.
• Prepare drawings and sketches for construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Verify that completed work adheres to applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Establish interior and exterior grades and working lines for contractors and craft personnel.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an accredited undergraduate program.
• Preferred majors include Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
• A passion for the construction industry.
• High academic achievement and prior elected leadership experience are preferred.
• Prior work, internship, or trade experience is preferred but not required.
• A valid driver’s license may be required, and the role is subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including moving up to 50 pounds, navigating construction sites, and working in various indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
