About the role#
The Project Engineer Intern role is based at project sites in the Waukesha, Wisconsin area. This is a full-time, paid position with an hourly wage range of $21 to $25, depending on previous internship experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Interpret designs and drawings for craft teams installing materials.
- Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
- Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors to ensure project timelines are met.
- Verify that completed work aligns with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Establish exterior and interior grades and working lines for contractors and craft teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
- Preferred majors include Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Evidence of high academic achievement and prior elected leadership experience is preferred.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, as sites may not be accessible via public transit.

- Working conditions include both indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to various weather conditions, and the use of personal protective equipment. The role may require overtime, weekend work, and the ability to move up to 50 pounds.
