Project Engineer Intern

About the role#

This Project Engineer Intern position is based on a construction project site in the Whittier, California area. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship opportunity requiring authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you'll do#

• Interpret design and construction drawings for teams installing materials.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction activities, change orders, and estimates.
• Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Verify that completed work adheres to applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Establish interior and exterior grades and working lines for contractors and craft workers.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an accredited undergraduate program.
• Preferred majors include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
• Evidence of high academic achievement, with prior elected leadership experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required, subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including moving up to 50 pounds, navigating construction sites, and working in various weather conditions and environments.

• Compensation: $25 to $29 per hour, based on relevant previous internship experience.
