About the role#
The Project Engineer Intern will work on-site at one of our project locations in the San Francisco, California area. This is a full-time, paid internship with a compensation range of $25 to $29 per hour, depending on relevant previous experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Interpret design drawings and specifications for craft teams installing materials.
- Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
- Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
- Verify that completed work remains in compliance with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Establish interior and exterior grades and working lines for contractors and crafts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
- Preferred majors include Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Evidence of high academic achievement and prior elected leadership experience is preferred.
- A valid driver's license may be required, subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity, while using personal protective equipment.
- Physical ability to move up to 50 pounds, navigate construction sites, and occasionally ascend or descend ladders and stairs.
