Engineering Summer Intern

About the role#

TG Kentucky, LLC is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern to join the team in Troy, Michigan. This full-time, paid internship focuses on supporting the research and development of new functional components for the domestic automotive market, specifically targeting New Energy Vehicle components.

What you'll do#

• Support the engineering team in developing New Energy Vehicle components.
• Create design concepts for parts, ensuring they meet vehicle environment packaging requirements.
• Design components and test fixtures using CATIA V5 CAD software.
• Lead the testing of part samples and prepare reports for engineering leadership.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to create and update technical documentation, including APQP, DRBFM, DFMEA, and P-diagrams.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
• A strong desire to learn all aspects of automotive design.
• Experience with CATIA V5 is preferred.
