Purchasing Summer Intern

About the role#

TG Kentucky, LLC is seeking a Purchasing Summer Intern to join the corporate purchasing team in Troy, Michigan. This role provides exposure to the procurement of raw materials and components, supporting various TG group companies and manufacturing plants across North America.

What you'll do#

• Support buyers with daily activities, including sourcing meetings, cost reduction initiatives, and requests from cross-functional departments.
• Shadow team members during supplier negotiations and meetings.
• Analyze cost breakdowns and conduct benchmarking activities for manufacturing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of Price Change Authorization (PCA), Sourcing Recommendation Authorization (SRA), and Request for Quotations (RFQ) documentation.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies toward a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong data analysis capabilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to present effectively in large group settings.
