Prototype Engineer Summer Intern

About the role#

The Prototype Engineer Summer Intern will support the Safety Systems engineering team at TG Kentucky, LLC. This position focuses on the hands-on development and evaluation of prototype automotive safety components.

What you'll do#

• Assist the engineering team with prototype builds, including tracing, cutting, and sewing airbag cushion components.
• Manage the 5S system for all inventory entering and leaving prototype and testing areas.
• Set up and conduct tests on prototype safety components.
• Support the analysis and reporting of tested parts.
• Lead assigned engineering projects and perform additional duties as required.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to learn all aspects of safety systems.
