    About the role#

    This is a part-time internship supporting the Immunization Project at Texas Children's Hospital. You will work under departmental leadership to assist with research activities focused on acute respiratory illness and gastroenteritis. Our team enrolls patients in studies across the Texas Medical Center and various pediatric clinics in the Houston area. You will gain experience in patient communication, medical terminology, and vaccine literacy.

    What you'll do#

    • Meet with children and families to explain research projects and gain participation.
    • Collect patient history and survey information.
    • Gather lab specimen samples as required.
    • Prepare and assist with special projects for department leadership.
    • Complete comprehensive analysis as assigned.
    • Attend scheduled project and committee meetings.
    • Travel to different pediatric clinics and the main medical campus as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor's program in Biology, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or Nursing.
    • Ability to commit to this position for at least one year.
    • Healthcare experience is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
    • Successful candidates must undergo respiratory fit testing to meet safety standards.
