About the role#
Labcorp is seeking an Anatomic Pathology intern to join our Cytology and Histology team in San Diego. This is a full-time, paid internship running for 11 weeks during the summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in a laboratory setting while working alongside professionals to support our diagnostic services.
What you'll do#
- Shadow laboratory professionals to learn diagnostic workflows, department operations, and the use of instrumentation.
- Assist with daily tasks including specimen organization, inventory management, and workspace preparation.
- Participate in supervised mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques.
- Support approved laboratory projects.
- Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow established laboratory procedures.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct.
- An interest in laboratory science and the diagnostics industry.
- Eagerness to learn new scientific concepts and laboratory skills.
- Preference is given to rising juniors and seniors graduating between December 2027 and June 2029.
Location & details#
- Location: San Diego, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 1st through August 13th).
- Work Modality: On-site, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week).
