Cybersecurity Internship Fall 2026 - Threat

About the role#

The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is an immersive, paid internship designed to prepare participants for a career as a full-time Information Security Associate. As a Developing Consultant within the Threat practice area, you will work alongside client-facing teams to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, technology, and compliance. This program focuses on building the technical and professional skills necessary to perform billable project work.

What you'll do#

• Participate in internal and external network and web application penetration tests.
• Study penetration testing methodologies and utilize dedicated training labs.
• Shadow penetration testers to learn in real-world scenarios.
• Write executive and technical summaries of test results and project activities.
• Assist with remediation validation and communicate test status to clients.
• Develop technical and business skills to support project execution.
• Complete tasks as assigned by your mentor or team lead.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited 4-year university (or military equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Basic familiarity with networking concepts, including firewalls, routers, switches, and DNS.
• Experience with computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
• Strong writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks is a plus, as are relevant IT or Information Security certifications.
• Ability to work as a self-starter who enjoys independent learning and problem-solving.

• Location: Irvine, California (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (October 5th – December 11th).
• Status: Full-time internship.
• This is a paid position.
