Cybersecurity Internship Fall 2026 - Payments

About the role#

The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is an immersive, paid internship designed to prepare participants for a career as a full-time Information Security Associate. During this program, you will work within the Payments practice area, focusing on the protection of credit card data, PCI DSS compliance, and payment application assessments. This role is based on-site in Fairfax, Virginia, and runs from October 5th to December 11th, 2026.

What you'll do#

• Develop the technical and business skills necessary to perform billable project work.
• Observe and assist with penetration testing and social engineering projects.
• Plan technical execution strategies to meet specific business requirements and gather necessary project requirements.
• Document execution procedures and provide professional insights into the technologies involved.
• Learn about industry-standard certifications and frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
• Assist senior consultants with client engagements and security solution implementations.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited 4-year university with a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Computer Engineering.
• Basic familiarity with networking concepts (firewalls, routers, switches, DNS) and server systems administration.
• Understanding of business planning and accounting principles.
• Strong writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks is considered a plus.
