Cybersecurity Internship Fall 2026 - Federal

About the role#

The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is an immersive, paid internship designed to prepare participants for a career as an Information Security Associate. As a Developing Consultant, you will join the Federal practice team, working with organizations connected to the Federal Government, including defense contractors and financial institutions. You will gain hands-on experience in conducting assessments, developing governance programs, and providing advisory services related to federal standards such as FISMA, FedRAMP, DFARS, and CMMC.

What you'll do#

• Develop the technical and business skills necessary to perform billable project work.
• Observe and assist with the implementation of Enterprise Security Solutions, internal and external penetration testing, and social engineering projects.
• Plan technical execution plans to meet business requirements and gather necessary project requirements.
• Execute on designed plans and document procedures, providing professional insights into the technologies involved.
• Learn about industry-standard certifications and international security frameworks.
• Assist senior consultants with client engagements.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited 4-year university with a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Basic familiarity with networking concepts, including firewalls, routers, switches, and DNS.
• Basic knowledge of computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
• Strong writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks and relevant IT or Cybersecurity certifications are considered a plus.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
