The Cybersecurity Consultant Development Program is a paid internship designed to build the technical and professional skills necessary for a career in information security. As a Developing Consultant, you will join the Enterprise Risk Management team to assist with client engagements, conduct risk assessments, and develop governance frameworks. This program is designed to prepare participants for potential roles as full-time Information Security Associates.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical and business skills to perform billable project work.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Enterprise Risk Management programs.
- Conduct Enterprise Risk Assessments and Vendor Risk Assessments.
- Observe and support internal and external penetration testing and social engineering projects.
- Plan and execute technical project plans to meet business requirements.
- Document execution procedures and provide insights into the technologies involved.
- Learn about industry-standard certifications and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited 4-year university.
- Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Basic familiarity with networking concepts including firewalls, routers, switches, and DNS.
- Experience with computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong writing skills for both technical and expository documentation.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks is considered a plus.
- Relevant IT, Cybersecurity, or Information Security certifications are a plus.

- Term: Fall 2026 (October 5th to December 11th).
- Modality: On-site in Irvine, California or Fairfax, Virginia.
- Status: Full-time internship.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
