About the role#
This internship is part of the Utility Project and BOP Engineering team. You will work on deploying large-scale Megapack systems to the grid for data centers, renewable energy, and grid-connected or off-grid projects. This is a full-time, on-site role lasting at least 12 weeks during the Winter and Spring 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Apply your knowledge of electrical and power systems to help find solutions for utility-scale projects.
- Assist with the review of BESS system layouts, single line drawings, and communication wiring diagrams.
- Help track project schedules, scope, and stakeholder updates to keep teams aligned.
- Learn about construction, permitting, and engineering concepts through hands-on project work.
- Contribute to discussions with cross-functional teams to help develop solutions.
- Shadow senior engineers as they interact with internal stakeholders and external partners like contractors, utilities, and customers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- A basic understanding of engineering fundamentals, design rules, utility requirements, and constructability.
- Evidence of strong skills in related fields.
- A collaborative, team-oriented personality and a strong work ethic.
- An eagerness to learn and contribute in a hands-on environment.
Location & details#
- Locations: Austin, Texas or Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter and Spring 2027, starting January or February 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site.
- This is a paid internship.
