About the role#
As a System Integration and Test Automation intern, you will contribute to the development of our next generation energy and EV charger products. You will work directly with hardware and firmware to ensure our systems meet performance standards. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Palo Alto.
What you'll do#
- Support hardware and firmware integration for Tesla Energy products, including grid-connect batteries, solar products, and EV chargers.
- Perform hands-on testing, debugging, and troubleshooting on real hardware.
- Support firmware validation and regression testing at the full system level.
- Develop test automation scripts using Python.
- Design and implement test systems, such as fault injection setups and multi-asset integration.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to read schematics.
- Experience building basic electrical systems and using lab tools like oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with electromechanical projects like robotics, solar cars, or formula SAE is a plus.
- Comfort working with high voltage and high-power systems is preferred.
- Interest in batteries, power electronics, or renewable energy.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) and on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
