About the role#
This internship supports the Energy Policy Team in Washington, DC. You will contribute to regulatory and legislative strategies for energy products, including residential battery storage, solar, and vehicle-to-grid initiatives. The role involves market analysis, business development, and strategic engagement at the state and local level. You will also complete a capstone project focused on a priority charging or energy policy issue.
What you'll do#
- Summarize and analyze regulatory filings.
- Develop briefings and research legislation.
- Manage complex, cross-functional projects.
- Assist with the development of new policy and business initiatives.
- Work with internal teams to gather cross-functional input and advise on public policy developments.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to amplify public policy priorities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Technology Policy, International Studies, or a related field with a focus on energy and sustainability.
- Understanding of the federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory process.
- Strong research and writing abilities.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, including experience managing multiple projects at once.
- Ability to make a minimum 6-month commitment.
- Experience in EV charging or energy policy within government, nonprofits, public interest groups, or industry associations is preferred.

- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Spring 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $26.56 - $37.02 per hour plus benefits.
