About the role#
The Systems Validation team validates software and system requirements before new releases or product launches. You will build automated test infrastructure to improve the efficiency of testing cycles. This role supports areas including Drive Systems, Brakes, Steering, Thermal Management, Battery Management, and Autonomy. You will contribute to the validation strategy and build new automated test infrastructure for existing and future vehicle programs.
What you'll do#
- Develop and execute system-level validation plans for new and existing products.
- Design and integrate test automation frameworks, tools, and sub-system test setups using Python, C++, and Rust.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and controls engineers to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Analyze test results, write reports, and suggest product improvements.
- Investigate field issues to find root causes and work with teams to implement fixes.
- Create prototype test setups to integrate new subsystems with simulated or actual vehicle components.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Expected graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Strong fundamentals in electrical, mechanical, controls, and systems engineering.
- Hands-on experience debugging complex systems with networked microprocessors and software-controlled sensors or actuators.
- Experience with test automation, object-oriented software design (Python, C++, Rust), and debugging tools.
- Familiarity with HIL/SIL environments, test benches, and simulation-based validation.
- Experience with vehicle communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Ability to parse data to develop technical insights.

- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $50.06 - $58.89 per hour plus benefits.
