About the role#
The Steering Software team is looking for a Validation Engineering intern to help develop and execute test cases, maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testers, and validate new steering features. You will work on projects that support the release of software for steering controls, covering everything from low-level embedded drivers to high-level application logic.
What you'll do#
- Develop and execute validation test plans for steering and chassis software features.
- Analyze test data and document results to identify issues and improvement opportunities.
- Support HIL and vehicle-level testing activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to reproduce and troubleshoot software issues.
- Maintain test documentation and contribute to process improvements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on test coverage.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Excellent proficiency in Python or C.
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration.
- Experience with Rust, Shell, Bash, Jenkins, Docker, or SCons is a plus.
- Ability to read and review electronic circuit schematics is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) and on-site.
- Compensation: $50.06 - $58.89 per hour plus benefits.
