About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our Information Security team. You will work on processing large amounts of data and building secure, scalable pipelines. This role involves working closely with a manager and mentor to own projects that support our team goals.
What you'll do#
- Architect and maintain secure ETL pipelines to process high-volume data.
- Use Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or similar frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Build failure recovery mechanisms and alerting to ensure pipeline reliability.
- Optimize Spark jobs to improve latency and throughput.
- Design and develop secure REST APIs using Python or Java frameworks.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for ETL workflows and API deployments in a DevOps environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or related degree program with a graduation date between 2027 and 2028.
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages, specifically Python and Java.
- Expertise in architecting data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Airflow, and Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
- Mastery of REST API development using tools like Spring Boot or FastAPI.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Bellevue, Washington.
- The internship runs during the Winter and Spring 2027 terms.
- You must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 12 weeks.
- This is a paid internship.
