About the role#
This internship focuses on the reliability and safety of autonomous systems for the Robotaxi program. You will work with a team to identify rare bugs, create detection tools, and stress-test fixes to prevent vulnerabilities from reaching the fleet. Your work directly supports system safety and the global scalability of the platform.
What you'll do#
- Build critical program analysis tools such as fuzzers, compiler instrumentation passes, run-time monitoring components, and static analysis tools.
- Integrate and maintain library hardening tools like sanitizers and clang-tidy.
- Improve fault tolerance by designing new redundancy-aware frameworks for autonomous systems.
- Work with other teams to understand current architecture and propose improvements to code reliability.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Expected graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Proficiency with Linux and modern C++ (17, 20, or 23).
- Prior experience or research in compilers, program analysis, fuzzing, or static analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with Bazel and general build systems is a plus.

- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: $125,000 per year plus benefits.
