About the role#
The Responsible Sourcing team is looking for an intern to support the supply chain organization with strategic procurement topics. You will focus on understanding and improving supplier performance regarding sustainability expectations. This team operates independently from specific commodities as part of an internal supply chain optimization group. Your work will prioritize continuous improvement based on business needs and opportunities for positive change. You will turn Tier 1 supplier audit results into actionable insights and practical improvement pathways.
What you'll do#
- Analyze sustainability assessment data and corrective action plans to identify trends, themes, and root causes of nonconformance.
- Translate findings into actionable insights for Tier 1 suppliers.
- Assist Supply Chain Managers and Supplier Industrialization Engineers in evaluating supplier performance against the Supplier Code of Conduct.
- Create supplier-facing materials to encourage practical improvements.
- Map current supplier responsibility due diligence work against industry best practices and propose solutions for identified gaps.
- Collaborate with procurement stakeholders to increase the visibility and understanding of due diligence information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Supply Chain, Business, Sustainability, International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field.
- Evidence of exceptional ability.
- Familiarity with human rights topics, including forced labor, child labor, migrant worker vulnerabilities, and governance.
- Knowledge of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct, and ILO Conventions.
- Coursework or experience in social science research design and methods.
- Coursework or experience in organizational behavior, UX/UI, or process design.
- AI literacy and comfort interpreting data to generate insights.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams.
- Ability to synthesize complex issues and communicate findings clearly.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
- Compensation: $25.24 - $43.75 per hour plus benefits.
