About the role#
The Energy Products Reliability team develops energy storage and solar products for residential and industrial use. This internship involves working with a multi-disciplinary group to ensure these systems function reliably. You will work on-site in Palo Alto, California.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and deploy testing platforms to validate next-generation Tesla Energy and Charging products.
- Work hands-on with prototype hardware.
- Execute engineering validation and long-term reliability testing on critical electromechanical and thermal systems.
- Collaborate with design, firmware, manufacturing, and service teams.
- Use test results to drive design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience applying core engineering principles while working hands-on with hardware.
- Proficiency with CAD software like Solidworks or CATIA.
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Ability to use standard lab and fabrication tools, including multi-meters and power tools.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Full-time internship for Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Minimum of 12 weeks, 40 hours per week, on-site.
- Compensation: Paid internship with benefits.
