About the role#
This internship focuses on the design and development of RF hardware, systems, and antennas for energy-related products. You will work within the Energy Engineering team to support wireless and wired communication systems, energy metering, and grid connection controls. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Palo Alto.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of RF hardware or antenna systems.
- Conduct RF performance testing and create scripts to automate data parsing, plotting, and analysis.
- Run component and product level electromagnetic simulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve design challenges.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Coursework in RF/Wireless Communication Systems, Microwave Engineering, and Signal Processing.
- Knowledge of RF transmission lines, impedance matching, RF circuits, and antenna theory.
- Proficiency in Python or similar tools for automating RF measurements.
- Hands-on experience with equipment such as spectrum or network analyzers.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like ADS, HFSS, or CST.
- Understanding of system-level RF parameters including power, sensitivity, and throughput.
- Exposure to PCB design tools like Altium is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Terms: Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) for a minimum of 12 weeks.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
