About the role#
This internship focuses on network engineering within a global enterprise environment. You will provide engineering, implementation, and operational support across manufacturing, workplace, retail, and data center settings. You will work alongside Staff Network Engineers to support system architecture and security policies while gaining hands-on experience with critical infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Staff Network Engineers on design projects and new initiatives.
- Maintain current network solutions and act as a Tier 2-3 escalation point for issues.
- Gather requirements, analyze networking needs, and propose technical solutions.
- Provision, implement, and validate networking services according to design specifications.
- Conduct product proof-of-concept evaluations.
- Monitor network services, analyze performance metrics, and report findings.
- Create and maintain documentation for the network knowledge base and operational run-books.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, which may include weekends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree program.
- Expected graduation date between 2027 and 2028.
- Experience with mid-to-large global enterprise networking infrastructure.
- Knowledge of IP networking and L2/L3 network protocols.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, VRRP, LACP, MC-LAG, EVPN with VXLAN, ACL, NAC, and infrastructure cabling.
- Proficiency in end-to-end QOS and application flow.
- Preferred: Experience with multi-vendor switching technologies like Juniper, Arista, and Cisco.
- Preferred: Experience with Juniper SRX and Palo Alto Networks firewall services.
- Preferred: Familiarity with tools such as Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, Netflow, IPAM, RADIUS, Splunk, and network taps.
- Preferred: Experience with scripting to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metrics.

- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $39.00 - $58.00 per hour plus benefits.
