About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Intern to join our Cell Engineering team in Richmond Hill. You will help design and deploy specialized development equipment for our battery products. This role focuses on battery cost and performance, which are central to our electric vehicles. You will work on-site with a team on technical projects.
What you'll do#
- Apply your technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, assembly fixtures, tooling, and procedures.
- Create and manipulate mechanical drawings and bills of materials.
- Support R&D efforts.
- Provide mechanical engineering support to project management personnel and fabrication and assembly technicians.
- Mediate and facilitate communication between vendors, customers, and various departments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD using Solidworks is required.
- Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and clear problem-solving skills.
- You are self-managed and committed to working in a demanding environment.
- Professional and positive communication skills.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Previous project or internship experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.
- Terms available: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Duration: A minimum of 12 weeks is expected.
