About the role#
Factory Software manages the applications that run production, logistics, maintenance, and safety systems. As a Machine Learning Engineer intern, you will work across these domains to optimize how we build products. You will solve problems for operation teams by applying machine learning, statistics, and optimization techniques.
What you'll do#
- Train custom computer vision models to detect quality defects or guide robots.
- Use natural language processing for question answering and issue identification.
- Apply statistics and optimization to reduce packaging costs and improve factory layouts.
- Develop algorithms, build and clean datasets, train models, and integrate them into the codebase.
- Perform continuous automated monitoring to ensure long-term model success.
- Collect, sort, filter, and clean large batches of images for machine vision projects.
- Preprocess data for classification, object recognition, and image segmentation.
- Mine business value from large datasets to support development needs.
- Connect with internal machine vision projects and manage project tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site.
- Proficiency in Python, Javascript, Typescript, Golang, or similar languages.
- Experience with infrastructure components like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or in-memory caches.
- Experience building modern web applications.

- Location: Fremont, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
