About the role#
As an Integration Engineer intern, you will work on access control systems for our vehicles. You will evaluate new technologies and ensure current production systems function correctly. This role involves collaborating with software, electrical, and mechanical design teams, as well as validation, manufacturing, and service departments. You will work with wireless technologies like Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra Wide Band, and NFC across various vehicle platforms and backend services.
What you'll do#
- Design prototypes to evaluate new technologies.
- Bring-up and debug early software and hardware prototypes by characterizing systems and ensuring they meet requirements.
- Translate user behaviors into actionable hardware and software requirements for access control systems.
- Lead software architecture design for access control features.
- Support validation teams in creating component and system level test plans.
- Debug hardware and software interactions during design, launch, and deployment.
- Perform field data analysis to improve system design and performance.
- Help cross-functional teams understand how their decisions impact vehicle systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering, with a graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Proficiency in Python and strong C/C++ comprehension.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with low power wireless networks like Bluetooth Low Energy or Ultra Wide Band.
- Hands-on experience debugging complex systems with network microprocessors.
- Experience prototyping embedded systems, including hardware and wiring.
- Data analysis skills to evaluate and improve system performance.
- Understanding of hardware and software development processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
