About the role#
The Energy Compliance team manages global deployment for grid interactive, grid support, and micro-grid inverters. You will handle grid certifications from initial market entry research through design consultancy, testing, and permitting. You will also participate in code development groups to help advance industry standards.
What you'll do#
- Run test cases on energy products for grid and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot equipment and find solutions.
- Negotiate testing scope and pass/fail criteria with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs).
- Test inverters, converters, and battery modules for product certification.
- Set up test configuration hardware and firmware.
- Post-process test results and submit them to the certification body.
- Create configuration files for specific countries or utilities to meet grid compliance requirements.
- Write Compliance Product Design Requirements (CPDR) for the design team.
- Support product registrations and permitting applications.
- Research new market entry requirements and track regulatory changes.
- Serve as a resource for compliance test engineers and represent the company in code and committee groups.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience taking solar power and energy storage systems through a certification process.
- Experience with AC/DC power supplies and lab measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of grid interactive and grid support standards.
- High voltage and high power experience.
- Experience with LabVIEW, Yokogawa, Dewetron, data acquisition tools, grid simulators, RLC load banks, and communication interfaces.
- Ability to interpret the ambiguity of standards and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.

- Location: Fremont, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour plus benefits.
