About the role#
This internship focuses on the Fleetnet platform, which connects Tesla products to their owners and developers. You will join a team responsible for the backend services and user interfaces that power vehicle connectivity, authentication, and device-integrated applications. You will work across the full stack to deliver features for millions of users.
What you'll do#
- Design and build scalable, high-availability mission-critical systems and APIs.
- Migrate existing systems to improve performance and maintainability.
- Build device-side software to manage connectivity, security, commands, and telemetry.
- Solve technical challenges using distributed, asynchronous messaging.
- Work with product, SRE, and infrastructure teams to deliver features.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a graduation date between 2027 and 2028.
- Experience in web development building highly reliable, mission-critical software.
- Proficiency in both frontend and backend development.
- Experience with Rails, React, Ruby, or Webpack.
- Preferred: Experience with Go and Kubernetes.
- Preferred: Knowledge of information security, API design principles, and gathering requirements from multiple stakeholders.

- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Spring 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Duration: Minimum of 12 weeks.
- Compensation: $40.00 to $56.00 per hour plus benefits.
