About the role#
As an intern on the AI Tooling team, you will contribute directly to the software systems that support our machine learning workflows. You will work with the Autopilot and Optimus teams to build tools that assist with data processing, annotation, and model training. This role requires strong software engineering skills and the ability to collaborate with machine learning experts to create tools that improve their daily workflows.
What you'll do#
- Improve and maintain the frontends and backends of our AI web tools.
- Work with controls, planning, and machine learning engineers to build tooling tailored to their specific workflows.
- Debug issues with our live system, identify root causes, and implement fixes.
- Build metrics to monitor the performance and reliability of our systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Strong knowledge of Python and Typescript.
- Experience building modern web applications using React.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with k8s is preferred, and knowledge of Three.js is a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Palo Alto, California.
- The internship is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week.
- Terms available include Winter 2027, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027.
- You must be able to relocate and work on-site for the duration of the internship.
