About the role#
As an Embedded Software Engineer on the Chassis Systems team, you will build code that controls suspension and damping actuators. Your work influences vehicle ride, handling, and stability. You will write code that runs on real hardware, helping ensure the vehicle remains composed and comfortable while providing the precision needed for autonomous systems. You will work across vehicle dynamics, motor controls, and embedded software engineering to solve complex technical problems.
What you'll do#
- Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment.
- Specify, design, and implement functionality for embedded subsystems.
- Create software architecture and firmware implementations through integration and testing.
- Collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics Engineers to ensure sensing, actuation, and controls work as intended.
- Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging, and code optimization.
- Develop unit and component level tests.
- Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronic Systems.
- Graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Proficiency in C and comprehension of Python.
- Strong grasp of software fundamentals, including design and maintainability.
- Experience with real-time operating system development and embedded microprocessor tools.
- Experience with testing, debugging, and working directly with hardware.
- Experience with controls software and algorithm development.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuit analysis and design.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a team.
