As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern on the High Voltage System team, you will contribute to the software that powers our vehicles. You will work on firmware drivers, software algorithms, and validation infrastructure to support battery management, power conversion, and charge port systems. The team focuses on building safe and reliable systems that provide accurate vehicle data like range and state of charge.
What you'll do#
- Write low-level firmware drivers for new and existing microcontrollers.
- Design and implement real-time software algorithms for high voltage system features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and test plans.
- Develop software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure for simulation and validation.
- Enhance battery and hardware models to ensure they represent real-world performance.
- Design flexible simulation frameworks for integration with other subcomponents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Strong software fundamentals and experience working on large-scale coding projects.
- Experience with real-time systems, embedded microprocessor tools, and control systems.
- Ability to read hardware schematics and datasheets.
- Experience with fundamental hardware components and analysis tools.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
