About the role#
The Energy Electrical Engineering team designs the electronics for charging systems and energy storage products. As an intern, you will work on central processing boards, communication systems, and safety circuits. You will join a team that develops the hardware for our residential and industrial energy products.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of digital and analog electronic PCBAs.
- Create system level designs for energy products.
- Develop and run test plans to validate PCBA performance.
- Work with mechanical, firmware, EMC, RF, thermal, and manufacturing test engineers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing PCBAs.
- Proficiency with Altium, LTspice, Matlab, and Python.
- Experience with switching power supplies, LDOs, and analog sense circuits.
- Knowledge of MCU and digital circuits, plus communications protocols like CAN, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and RS485.
- Familiarity with high voltage circuits.
- Previous leadership roles in school or university design projects are a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Palo Alto, California.
- The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and on-site.
- We are looking for candidates for the Winter 2027 or Summer 2027 terms.
- A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is required.
