About the role#
We are seeking a Data Engineering Intern to join our Data Engineering and Business Intelligence team. You will help build and maintain the data pipelines and services that power analytics across our product lines, including Vehicles, Semi, Robotaxi, and Optimus. You will work across our data warehouse, internal API platform, and AI Agent Analytics layer.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of LLM-based analytics agents by translating business metric requests into SQL and structured configurations.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT jobs using Apache Airflow.
- Write and optimize SQL queries across SQL Server, Vertica, and Trino.
- Help build and extend internal Python APIs, including database connectors and caching.
- Support incremental and CDC-style loading patterns for fact and dimension tables.
- Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to turn business questions into data models.
- Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot job failures, and improve system reliability.
- Document pipelines, data flows, and metric definitions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between May 2027 and June 2028.
- Strong foundation in SQL, including writing, debugging, and optimizing queries.
- Solid understanding of Python.
- Basic knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with at least one relational database.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn modern data engineering practices.
- Experience working with LLMs is a plus.

- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $32.45 - $45.43 per hour plus benefits.
