About the role#
The Tesla Energy Compliance team is looking for a Compliance Test Engineer to support the global deployment of safety, grid interactive, grid support, and micro-grid inverters. You will handle safety and grid certifications, from identifying market entry requirements through design consultancy, certification, and permitting.
What you'll do#
- Support cross-functional hardware design programs for Industrial Energy Products by coordinating with design, manufacturing, supply chain, validation, and quality teams.
- Develop and maintain project plans and schedules while tracking milestones across design, validation, and manufacturing readiness.
- Assist with build planning and execution for prototype, pilot, and production phases by tracking part readiness and build health.
- Collect and use data to present progress, trends, risks, and opportunities for programs.
- Manage engineering change and configuration control as designs iterate.
- Run meetings, manage multiple workstreams, and drive issues to closure.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the engineering product design cycle, from concept through validation and launch.
- Knowledge of system development concepts and multi-level Bill of Material structures.
- Experience using project management tools to track complex work.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a track record of delivering on commitments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for a cross-functional environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Fremont, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 (starting January 2027 for a minimum of 12 weeks).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid internship.
