About the role#
The Commercial UI team builds interfaces to analyze and optimize Tesla's global energy fleet. You will work on tools that provide access to telemetry data for diagnosing consumer, commercial, and industrial products. This includes software for grid-scale battery installations, industrial project configuration, and charging network planning. You will contribute to projects that rely on intelligent product design and scalable systems.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and maintain distributed software systems that handle real-time and streaming data for millions of IoT devices.
- Characterize complex issues regarding the scalability, reliability, and security of production systems.
- Test the performance of distributed software and build the services required to support that testing.
- Collaborate with your team to improve developer productivity and drive initiatives to completion.
- Uphold team values including engineering excellence, curiosity, and a bias for action.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Fluency in full stack web languages and tools.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React is preferred.
- Experience with GraphQL is a plus.
- High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Location & details#
- This internship is based on-site in Palo Alto, California.
- The role is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week.
- Availability is required for the Winter 2027 term, with potential extension into Summer 2027.
- A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is expected.
- This is a paid internship.
