About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Winter 2027. You will join the AI Hardware team to work on signal and power integrity for our systems. This role requires you to be on-site for the duration of the term.
What you'll do#
- Design SOC packages, PCBs, and systems with a focus on optimized power and signal integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors on high-speed interconnect designs, such as cables, sockets, and connectors.
- Work alongside silicon, package, and PCB physical design teams to optimize high-speed interfaces and power integrity layouts.
- Partner with power supply engineers to bring up power delivery networks and characterize electrical performance.
- Create and run test plans to validate signal and power integrity at both the system and component levels, including tasks like interconnect channel measurement, SerDes validation, and noise droop measurement.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Expected graduation date between May 2027 and December 2027.
- Solid understanding of electromagnetic theory and system or package-level SI and PI.
- Experience with SI/PI modeling for high-speed serial interfaces, memory interfaces, and power integrity analysis.
- Proficiency with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, VNAs, and BERT scopes.
- Experience correlating lab results with simulations.
- Strong hands-on skills in debugging, data analysis, and lab measurements.
- Familiarity with power supply circuit design, Python or MATLAB scripting, and SerDes/DDR IO circuit design are all considered pluses.
Location & details#
- Locations: Palo Alto, California or Austin, Texas.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
